The Central Okanagan Foundation supports registered charities within the Central Okanagan including Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna and Peachland. One of our aims is to assist the community to become vibrant and strong. We do this by funding community charities in eight key areas:
  • Arts & Culture   • Children, Youth & Family
  • Heritage & Historical   • Education
  • The Environment   • Health & Community Services
  • Animal Welfare   • Global Initiatives (must have local involvement and / or local benefits)

Grant Application Process:

We invite eligible organizations to apply for either a one year PROJECT or MULTI-YEAR Operational funding by completing the attached grant application.

DEADLINES:
PROJECT Grants: 3:30 pm on May 1st and October 1st
MULTI-YEAR Grants: 3:30 pm on May 1st
Or the closest working day after the 1st, if either of these days falls on a weekend.

Applications received after these deadlines will not be accepted.

NOTIFICATIONS:
All organizations will be notified of the status of their application when Board approval is received, approximately six to eight weeks after the grant application deadline.
REPORTING:
The Central Okanagan Foundation must be accountable to their donors to ensure that monies distributed through our Grants Program are indeed used for the purposes they were intended. Successful applicants are required to submit a project evaluation to foundation staff within one year. Neglect of submission by the due date will affect future grant recommendations from the Central Okanagan Foundation.

  • Financial Statement for the last complete fiscal year (both project & multi-year)
  • Three written quotes if request is for equipment, publishing, production, etc.
  • Support letters (partner agencies, participants)
  • Proof of Eligibility – Charity’s detail page (located at www.cra-arc.gc.ca)
  • List of Board of Directors
  • Intermediary Agency Agreement if not a registered charity (if applicable)
